Stamped Concrete in Bridgeview, IL
Looks like stone. Pours like a slab. Every add-on priced in writing.
Decoration Goes on Top. Structure Goes First.
Stamped concrete is a regular slab with a pattern pressed in. That matters. If the base is weak or the slab is thin, the pattern cracks and lifts like any other pour. So we build the structure first. Soil out. Limestone tamped. Forms set with slope. Steel if needed. Then the decorative part. Color goes in the mix, on the surface, or both. A release powder in a darker shade goes down next. It stops the mats sticking and leaves shadow in the low spots. The mats go down in order from a straight line. Timing is everything. Early mats smear. Late mats barely print. Corners get hand tools. After curing we wash it and roll on sealer. Patterns include ashlar slate, random stone, cobble, brick and wood plank. Every choice, color, release, sealer, is a line on your price. One more line: an 8-month warranty on cracks wider than 1/8 inch. If one opens on a stamped slab, the repair is an overlay.
